Boko Haram Militants Kidnap School Girls from Nigerian Town Dapchi
February 24 , 2018
Boko Haram militants stormed a school in the Nigerian town of Dapchi on Monday and kidnapped dozens of school girls, reviving memories of the Chibok schoolgirl abduction 4 years back. Parents of the kidnapped children claimed the number to be more than 100. More and more parents are angry about handling of the incident by the government. Initially, Nigerian authorities denied kidnapping of students but later Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari apologized for the attack and went on to call the suspected kidnapping a “national disaster”. Though the Yobe state government mistakenly stated initially that the national army saved some of the girls, later they apologized.
