Boko Haram links to IS alarm UN Security Council

UN Security Council said that it was alarmed by the growing ties between Boko Haram, a Nigeria-based terrorist group, and the Islamic State. Boko Haram had pledged its allegiance to ISIS back in 2015 and is a major cause for instability in the western and central parts of Africa. According to a senior US official, there are reports of Boko Haram fighters joining ranks of Islamic State. Nigeria is to host a summit to fight Boko Haram, This summit will include Chad, Niger, Benin, Cameroon. This conference will also include French president Francois Hollande, United States Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK foreign Secretary Phillip Hammond.
