January 19 , 2015
Around 80 people, a majority of them children, have been kidnapped by Boko Haram militants in northern Cameroon, media reports said.
At least three people were killed in the attacks as the Nigerian militant group targeted villages across the border on Sunday, January 18. It is a reminder of the increasing zone of influence of the Islamist fighters in the region.
A senior army officer was quoted as saying that the militants abducted about 30 adults and 50 children in the age group of 10 to 15 years.
