Big lakes continue to shrink
February 9 , 2014
There are several reasons for many of the big lakes across the globe to disappear or shrink. One of them being the Dead Sea, which is technically a lake and has been around for a long time. However, it continues to get shallower but officials said they're working on the issue.
Lake Waiau is another one holding a significant amount importance since it's considered to be a sacred spot by Hawaiians. It began disappearing in 2010 and was less than a foot deep in Sept.
Scott Lake in Florida didn't only disappear within two weeks but also took away 32 tons of wildlife along with it. The lake is slowly returning but it's not clear if it'll come back for good.
