Bernie Sanders declares His Welfare Schemes while Addressing Afro-Americans

  • Bernie Sanders (the senator from Vermont and White House hopeful in the coming 2020 Presidential election) addressed a crowd of African-American activists at the Reverend Al Sharpton’s National Action Network in New York. He put out his plan before them and contrasted them with the far-right agenda of incumbent President Donald Trump (who will seek reelection during US Presidential election 2020). Bernie charted out his economic policies and went on to stress how these policies will benefit the African-Americans. This speech was important because, in the 2016 Presidential election, the Afro-Americans mainly voted in favor of another Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. While announcing his alternate idea to that of Donald Trump, Sanders stressed upon economic equality, which includes universal healthcare, higher minimum wage, free public college, and many more.
