Benghazi attack suspect killed in Cairo shootout

A man suspected of involvement in last month’s attack on the American consulate in Libya’s Benghazi city has been killed in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.
According to officials, the man was killed after an exchange of fire with security services in the Cairo suburb of Madinet Nasr.
Authorities named the man as Hazem.
He was cornered in an apartment in Madinet Nasr in the early hours of Wednesday morning. He threw a bomb at security forces but it bounced back into the apartment.
An exchange of fire followed and continued for several hours.
Hazem’s burnt body was found in the property, along with weapons and explosive materials.
Four U.S. diplomatic officials were killed in the Benghazi attack, including the American ambassador to Libya.
