Bengal tiger gets away after killing 10th victim
February 12 , 2014
A tiger killed yet another villager in India and officials said they're trying to determine the number of dangerous tigers in the region.
The animal ate part of the man's abdomen and legs as he was collecting firewood. It was too late by the time villagers scared off the animal with shovels and rods. "People rushed to his rescue on hearing his screams." an official told the Times of India. "But he was dead by the time they got there."
Jim Corbett National Park was meant to give endangered Bengal tigers a secure place to live and the official said the priority at the moment is to "establish the identity of the tiger."
Hunters almost captured a tiger Saturday using a bait but he got away.
