Beijing behind rising tension in the South China Sea: US Defense Secretary

The U.S Defense Secretary Ashton Carter alleged that China is to be held responsible for the rising level of tension in the South China Sea region. Due to heavy militarization by Chinese authorities, countries all over Asia- Pacific have expressed their concern. As a result of this, all the countries in the south Asian region are reaching out to the US to help them with regional diplomacy in order to uphold rules and regulations required for rise and development of the region. According to Carter, the investment made by the US in these regions has helped the countries progress amidst the rising tension due to China’s assertiveness.
