Around 10 Hindu pilgrims were killed in a stampede in Bangladesh, media reports said.
A large number of people had gathered at Narayanganj for a bathing ritual known as Astami Snan in the Brahmaputra river at the time, the police said. The cause of the stampede was not immediately clear.
An estimated one million pilgrims from Bangladesh and other countries attend the religious event every year.
Seven women are believed to be among the victims of the stampede.
