Bangladesh vows to end minority killings

More than 3000 people have been arrested in Bangladesh to curb attacks on minorities and secular writers. Among those who were arrested are militants of the outlawed Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) who are responsible for most of the attacks. Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has vowed to stamp out the violence. Bangladesh has been witnessing a string of brutal attacks by the hard core Islamists. The drive was launched after a high level meeting held by IG AKM Shahidul which involved paramilitary Border Guard, Bangladesh and Elite anti-crime rapid action battalion.
