Bangladesh: Secular publisher hacked to death in Dhaka

  • Faisal Arefin Dipon, a Bangladeshi publisher of secular books, has been hacked to death in Dhaka. The murderous attack at his office in the capital came hours after another publisher and two writers were wounded in another attack.

A local al-Qaeda affiliate has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Dipon, 43, has become the latest victim of a series of attacks on secular bloggers. He was the publisher of books by Avijit Roy, an atheist blogger who was hacked to death in February.
