Bangladesh plunges into darkness after grid fails
November 2 , 2014
Large swathes of Bangladesh plunged into darkness after a power line that connects the country to neighboring India’s electricity grid failed.
The blackout affected all parts of Bangladesh which are connected to the national grid, reports said. Though some power plants started working in a few hours, they failed again.
Bangladesh has been importing electricity from India for a year.
Officials said a technical glitch on the Indian side may have led to the blackout.
