    July 8, 2016: The causalities of the ISIS truck bombing has reached 292, after many of the wounded have succumbed to the injuries. Apart from the 292, 200 more were injured in the attack. Many of the burned victims have been sent out of the nation for better treatment, as mentioned by deputy head of the security committee for Baghdad province, Mohammad al-Rubaee.


    Baghdad Suicide Bombing: Casualty Rises to 250

    July 6, 2016: The death toll in Baghdad suicide bombing, which crossed 200 on Monday, has now risen to 250. Following the bombing, the country is still under an official state of mourning. As per reports, the attackers packed a lorry with explosives and parked it near the Hadi center. Carried out by the so-called Islamic State (IS), this was the deadliest attack since the US-led invasion in 2003.


    Baghdad Suicide Bombing Death Toll Rises to 200

    July 4, 2016: Following the suicide bombing attack that took place in Baghdad on Saturday, the death toll has risen to 200, as mentioned by Mohamed al-Rubaye, the deputy head of the security committee of the Baghdad Provincial Council. This is the latest in a string of the suicide attacks which have taken place in the month of Ramadan.


    Iraq Declares Mourning After Baghdad Suicide Bombing

    July 4, 2016: Three days of national mourning has been declared by the Iraqi government after 125 people were killed and 150 wounded in Baghdad. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi paid visit to mainly the Shia area where he confronted the angry crowds. Later, understanding the state of mind of the victims and their relatives, his office announced three days of mourning.


    125 killed in explosion in Baghdad

    July 3, 2016: At least 125 people have been killed and around 150 injured in an explosion in Baghdad. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the explosion. According to media reports, a car bomb exploded in the central district of Karrada. The attack occurred at a mainly Shia area and the street was filled with shoppers as it is the holy month of Ramadan. Five people died in another explosion that took place in a predominately Shia area north of Baghdad.


    Twin explosions rock Baghdad; 23 dead

    July 3, 2016: A car bomb exploded killing 18 people and wounding 45 others at Karada in a Shiite majority neighborhood of Baghdad. Shortly after the first explosion there was another explosion in which five people were killed and 16 wounded. The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack in the Karada district. Since the Ramadan month is near the end the streets are crowded after the sunset. A week back Iraqi forces had declared that the city of Fallujah was fully liberated from the Islamic State. In order to exhibit its ability of launching attacks in Iraq even after the sieze, IS attacked at karada. The rescue operation was going on till Sunday morning. Islamic State still controls Iraq’s second largest city of Mosul as well as major parts of territory in the country’s north and west.
