Award to Tony Blair endangers charity's credibility, say staff

Save the Children is facing severe criticism from within its own staff after the charity presented former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair with a ‘global legacy’ award last week, media reports say.
In an internal letter that has reportedly gathered nearly 200 signatures, the staff of Save the Children said the award was “morally reprehensible” and “endangers” the charity’s worldwide credibility.
Calling for the withdrawal of the award, the letter says it was a betrayal of the charity’s “founding principles and values.”
