Australia's gag order over bribery allegations revealed

  • WikiLeaks has revealed a gagging order in Australia aimed at blocking reporting of bribery allegations linked to several international political leaders.

The prohibition, issued by the supreme court of Victoria’s criminal division as part of a criminal case, was aimed at preventing possible damage to the country’s international relations by the publication of material “that may damage the reputations of specified individuals who are not the subject of charges in these proceedings.”
