Attacks in Sri Lanka due to intelligence lapse

Government of Sri Lanka has admitted that there was a major intelligence lapse before the bomb blast that took place on Easter Sunday. In the blast, reportedly around 359 people perished and 500 were wounded. The President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena, has sacked the inspector general of police and defence secretary, claiming that the attacks were majorly due to the intelligence lapse. Moreover, Sri Lankan government has stated that it is further investigating the matter, whether group of Islamic State (IS) was responsible for attacking the targeted hotels and churches.
