At least 67 killed in a suicide blast in Lahore

  • Lahore blast: Pakistan detained over 5000 suspected militants in two days

    Pakistani officials had detained more than 5,000 suspected militants in two days since the suicide attack took place in a busy park in Lahore on Easter Day. According to a provincial minister, the investigators later released all of them expect 216 suspects. Further investigation will happen. The blast had killed at least 70 people.

    Taliban splinter group claims responsibility for Lahore blast
    A Taliban splinter group has claimed responsibility for the deadly suicide attack in Lahore, Pakistan. Media reports quoted the group, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, as saying that it had targeted Christians who were celebrating Easter. However, the police have said that they are still investigating the claims.

    At least 67 people were killed in Lahore on Sunday when a suicide bomber blew himself up in the city of Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. More than 200 others were injured when the blast took place at a popular park. A large number of Christians, including women and children, had gathered to enjoy Easter holiday.
