Arab League nations agree to create a joint military force
March 30 , 2015
Arab League countries have agreed to set up a joint military force.
Heads of the League were meeting in Egypt as the crisis in Yemen escalates and extremist threats in the region continue to grow.
Currently, a coalition of Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia is using air strikes to target Shia Houthi rebels in Yemen.
The military campaign is in support of Yemini president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, who was forced to flee after the Iran-backed rebels consolidated their position in Yemen.
