Anti-protest groups try to tear down barricades in Hong Kong
October 13 , 2014
Scuffles were reported at the main protest site in Hong Kong after some taxi drivers allegedly attempted to pull down barricades put up by pro-democracy activists.
The police had to intervene to separate the two groups. Men wearing masks were seen pushing the protesters as the situation started to turn ugly, media reports said.
The protests, which have continued for three weeks, reached their peak when tens of thousands of people descended on the streets. Since then, smaller groups of students have continued to occupy specific sites in the city.
