Antarctica: Three trillion tonnes of ice lost
June 14 , 2018
As per the latest reports of the nine award-winning scientists who have spent decades studying the white continent, it has been observed that it is losing ice at an accelerating rate. Satellites which are monitoring the white continent have indicated nearly 200 billion tonnes of ice is being lost to oceans as a result of melting. Sea levels are going to rise because of which serious threat of flooding will arise for the coastal countries. The temperature of the earth is also expected to increase half a degree Celsius this year.
