Amelia Hits France and Left Thousands Without Electricity

  • On Sunday evening around 17:00 (16:00 GMT), most part of western Nouvelle Aquitaine region of France was left without power as Storm Amelie hit the Atlantic coast and southern areas with heavy winds and rains. The storm brought down electric cables and trees and caused the power cuts in the region. As per an AFP news, six peoples sustained minor injuries due to falling trees and no deaths have been reported so far. However, a woman in her seventies was reported missing after the landslide. An official confirmed, nearly 1,700 employees are working to restore power soon.
