Amazon kicks off competition for its New Headquarters

Amazon, an e-commerce giant, has sparked off competition among the rival cities as it announced to build a massive second Headquarter in North America. As per Jeff Bezos, “Amazon HQ2 will bring billions of dollars in up-front and ongoing investments, and tens of thousands of high paying jobs.” Amazon plans to spend $5bn on the project over 15-17 years. It is seeking a base for as many as 50,000 workers. Currently in its Seattle Headquarter, Amazon has 40,000 workers out of worldwide workforce of 380,000. Austin, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Phoenix and Toronto shot to top of list of potential locations.
