Almost no doubt Assad regime used chemical weapons

  • Latest Updates - US Attacks Syria

United Nations inspectors are getting ready to look over the site of the alleged chemical attack in Syria and the U.S. officials have said it is almost certain that the Bashar al- Assad regime is the one responsible for the attack, which killed 355 people in Syria.

The official said there is nothing credible to indicate that chemical weapons were used by the rebels. "Only the Assad regime is responsible for chemical weapons use," he said.

The Syrian regime and rebel forces have been blaming each other for the attack that caused the deaths of hundreds, including women and children.

The official said the "wide range of tools" are being used to analyze data in order to reach conclusions.

The agreement to allow U.N. inspectors full access to the attack site has been in effect immediately.
