February 7 , 2016
Algeria has reinstated a limit of two-terms on the presidency of the country. As per media reports, the limit was lifted seven years ago to enable President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to run for a third term. The limit forms a part of a package of constitutional reforms that as per the authorities will boost democracy. However, leaders of the opposition have dismissed the changes as superficial.
