Al-Qaeda's Indian branch is delusional, says Narendra Modi
September 20 , 2014
In his first major television interview after becoming prime minister, Narendra Modi has played down al-Qaeda’s attempt to establish an Indian wing, saying the terrorist group was “delusional” in thinking that India’s Muslims would “dance to its tune”.
Speaking to CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, Modi said Indian Muslims “will live for India and die for India”.
The Indian prime minister said the militant threat was not aimed at a particular race or country but a “crisis against humanity”.
