Al-Qaeda plotting to attack Europe
August 20 , 2013
According to a report by a German newspaper, Al-Qaeda could be plotting to attack the high-speed rail network in Europe.
This information comes as a result of the NSA overhearing an Al-Qaeda conference call, which discussed the plan. The same call could have been responsible in revealing information that led to the U.S. embassies closing around the world.
The official in Germany, however, said "the security situation has not changed" and that security wouldn't be strengthened. A spokesman said the warnings that keep coming from time to time are followed up.
The administration of Angela Merkel is trying to keep the letters "NSA" out of the news and the opposition is giving Merkel a hard time on her complicity with the American spies.
