Afghanistan: Killing of Hazaras triggers massive protests in Ghazni
November 11 , 2015
Thousands of protesters turned up in Afghanistan’s eastern Ghazni city to voice their opposition against the killing of seven members of the minority Hazara community by militants.
A woman and two girls were among those killed. Some of the victims had their throats slit.
Their bodies were found in the southern Zabul province which has seen fighting between rival Taliban factions over the last few days.
The coffins were driven through the streets of Ghazni, home to a large population of Hazaras.
President Ashraf Ghani said the murders were a "heartless killing of innocent individuals".
