July 13 , 2015
At least 33 people, most of them women and children, were killed in a suicide bomb blast near an Afghan military base, reports said. According to the statement from Khost's provincial governor, 27 civilians and six security personnel were killed.
The bomber blew himself at a security checkpoint close to Camp Chapman, which was previously used by America's CIA. The attack occurred in eastern Afghanistan's Khost province, which borders Pakistan.
The military base now has local as well as foreign soldiers, including American troops.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing, but the Taliban frequently carry out such attacks.
