Afghanistan: 19 dead in Jalalabad suicide attack

At least 19 people were killed, including 10 members of the Sikh community, after an explosion hit an area in the eastern city of Jalalabad, Afghanistan on Sunday. As per media reports, the people were traveling in a vehicle to meet President Ashraf Ghani in the provincial capital of Nangarhar. Awtar Singh Khalsa, the only Sikh candidate who was contesting for the elections which will be conducted on October 20, was also among the dead. The Islamic State (IS) group has carried the attack.
