Afghanistan: 12 killed, 60 wounded in Kabul bomb attack
August 23 , 2015
Aug 23, 2015 - A deadly suicide bomb attack in the Afghan capital Kabul has killed at least 12 people and wounded about 60, the police said.
The explosion, which destroyed several vehicles, targeted the diplomatic area in Macrorayan district. Three American contractors are believed to be among those killed.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, though Taliban have carried out such attacks in recent months.
Both Kabul airport and the presidential palace are not far from the site of the bombing, raising questions about the effectiveness of the Afghan security forces.
