Afghan poll audit came to a halt after audit team walked out
July 21 , 2014
An audit of the disputed presidential election in Afghanistan had to be halted after a dispute over which ballots should be invalidated led an audit team to walk out, media reports said.
Though the team agreed to return to work, a consensus over what constitutes electoral fraud remains elusive.
The audit teams comprise poll election workers, agents for the two presidential candidates Abdullah Abdullah and Ashraf Ghani, and international and Afghan observers.
