Abe restates goal of rewriting Japan's pacifist constitution
December 16 , 2014
Shinzo Abe, who has been re-elected as Japan’s prime minister, has expressed his determination to go ahead with rewriting the nation’s pacifist constitution.
He indicated that he would push ahead with his goal of changing the constitution, which was authored by the US after World War 2.
The conservative Abe has stated in the past that the constraints on the Japanese military are unfair, and should be removed seventy years after it surrendered at the end of war.
