A Zebra was Shot Down on a Highway in Germany

  • On Wednesday, a Zebra was shot dead on a highway in Germany. Police have confirmed that two Zebras escaped from a circus near the northeastern town of Tessin. One was captured safely but the other ran away on the highway causing road accidents and "material damage". However, nobody was injured in the chaos including the Zebra but highway had to be closed. Rostock district police posted a warning tweet alerting people of the town that a "runaway Zebra" is on the highway causing destruction. After few hours, when the authorities failed to control the animal, the emergency animal rescue unit of the fire department was called and the Zebra was shot down near the town of Thelkow.
