78 people killed in Syria's Hama province
June 7 , 2012
Syrian pro-regime forces in Hama province have killed at least 78 people, including dozens of women and children.
The Syrian National Council, the main opposition coalition, said there had been a "massacre" in the village of Qubair.
The reports come less than two weeks after 108 people were killed in the Houla region.
Witnesses in both incidents have blamed pro-government militiamen while the government accuses "armed groups".
Like in Houla, several victims in Qubair were stabbed or shot at close range.
