6 Died, 300 Injured 6.6 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Philippines

  • On Tuesday, southern part of Philippines was struck by a powerful earthquake of magnitude 6.6 which killed six people, injured nearly 300 and left the buildings cracked. Reports by the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology says that the inland tremor which hits around 9:04 am, hit at a depth of 7 km and was about 25 km southeast of Tulunan town. It is believed that, this was the second most powerful earthquake to hit the province in the Central Mindanao region. The tremors were strongly felt in the cities of Kidapawan, Davao, Koronadal, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Zamboanga and also the Sarangani and Bukidnon provinces.
