40 died in train crash in Northern India

More than 40 people died on Monday, May 26, when the Gorakhpur Express train crashed into a freight train sitting on the tracks in Uttar Pradesh.
Six cars derailed and one contained most of the casualties, took the brunt of the accident. "It has been reduced to a mangled iron mesh," a police office said. "We do not know as to how many were there."
Reports suggest that most victims came from poor families and were returning home from Haryana.
