30 killed in twin bomb attacks in Nigeria

  • About 30 people were feared killed in two bomb explosions in central Nigeria’s Jos city, reports said.

The Islamist militant group Boko Haram is believed to be behind the attacks which occurred as the country gets ready for elections that are due in February.

The opposition has declared Muhammadu Buhari, the ex-military ruler, as the challenger to president Goodluck Jonathan. Security is expected to be a key issue in the polls.
