3 killed, 10 injured as Donetsk comes under artillery fire
August 9 , 2014
Shelling in eastern Ukraine has killed at least three people and wounded 10 in the rebel-controlled city of Donetsk.
Artillery fire, which locals say was launched by Ukrainian troops, also damaged residential buildings in the city’s south. A rocket launcher placed by separatists near a building could have been the possible target of government troops, reports indicated.
As troops try to take back control of the city from the rebels, the fighting could intensify in the days ahead. Around one-third of the city’s residents have already fled the fighting.
