The two hostage situations that had France on the edge ended on Friday, with the killing of three gunmen along with four hostages.
The brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi — the two suspects in the attack on Charlie Hebdo magazine that left 12 people dead — were shot and killed by the police at a warehouse north of capital Paris.
Meanwhile, in Paris, special forces and police killed a gunman holding several hostages at a kosher store, but four hostages also lost their lives during the siege.
