20 tourists arrested in China's Inner Mongolia region
July 15 , 2015
Twenty tourists including eleven British nationals have been arrested in China, reports said.
The tourists, including South Africans and one Indian national, were arrested at Ordos airport in Inner Mongolia, which is an autonomous Chinese region in the north.
It was not immediately clear why they were detained, though some reports suggested that some of the tourists may have been held on "terror" charges.
The Britons include two dual British-South African nationals, according to the UK’s foreign office, which said that its officials were “liaising with Chinese authorities” to get more details.
