19 Killed, Over 50 Injured in Manchester Arena Blast

  • As per reports, 19 people were killed and more than 50 were hurt in a blast at Manchester Arena on Monday. The explosion took place at 22:35 BST following a pop concert by the US singer Ariana Grande.

    Paramedics at the scene reportedly treated some of the injured people for "shrapnel-like injuries".

    According to two unnamed US officials, a suicide bomber carried out the attack.

    A Conservative Party general election campaigning was suspended by the prime minister as she will be chairing an emergency Cobra committee meeting of the government later.

    Shortly after the blast the station which connects the area, was closed and all trains were canceled.

    In response to the attack, an emergency number was established by Greater Manchester Police.
