17 killed in Aleppo car bomb
September 10 , 2012
At least 17 people were killed in a car bomb on Sunday in Syria's largest city, Aleppo, according to the Syrian state news agency Sana.
The blast, which injured 40 others, was reported to have been caused by a booby-trapped car.
Fighting in Aleppo has escalated in recent weeks after Syrian government forces launched an offensive in July against rebels seeking to capture the city.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Sana blamed "terrorists", a term used by the Syrian government for rebels.
