100 injured in Snowfall in Tokyo

A total of 100 people were injured in northern and north-eastern Japan after the area witnessed heavy snowfall.Tokyo, which saw the first substantial snowfall of the season on Monday, recorded 4cm snow around noon and the meteorological agency issued warnings for heavy snow in the Tama region. Thirty people fromTokyo had to be rushed to hospitals for getting injured. A low pressure system is responsible for the snow that would continue throughout the day. The Land Ministry has asked people to prepare for heavy snow in affected areas and not venture out.
