10 killed in car bomb attack in Baghdad

  • At least 10 people were killed and more than 30 injured when a car bomb exploded in Baghdad on Tuesday, August 26, police said.

    The blast happened in the New Baghdad area of the Iraqi capital. Earlier in the weekend, more than 20 people died in several bomb blasts in the city of Kirkuk.

    Late last week an attack on a Sunni mosque, reportedly carried out by Shia extremists, in the country’s Diyala province killed around 70 people.
