10 arrested in Pakistan for attack on Malala

  • Ten people suspected of attempting to kill Pakistani teenage activist Malala Yousafzai have been arrested in Swat district.

Malala, an active campaigner for girls’ education, was shot in the head in October 2012 by Islamist militants opposed to her activism. After an emergency operation in Pakistan she was flown to England for treatment.

Ever since, she has become a prominent voice in support of educating girls.

The arrested men are linked to the Taliban, according to the Pakistani army.
