UN climate change panel chief resigns over allegations of sexual harassment

Rajendra Pachauri, the chief of the UN climate change panel, has resigned following allegations of sexual harassment.
In a letter addressed to United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, the IPCC head said that he was not in a position to provide “strong leadership”.
The complaint of harassment was filed by a 29-year-old woman employed at Pachauri’s Delhi office.
The 74-year-old has gone on leave from the Energy and Resources Institute that he headed.
