'World of Warcraft' loses 600,000 subscribers

  • The popular online video game, "World of Warcraft" was abandoned by 600,000 subscribers in the last three months, which roughly equals to two million players since the start of this year. 

    Subscribers are asked to pay a fee or buy a prepaid card in order to enter this game, which is connected through the Internet and despite this decline in the number of subscribers, "World of Warcraft" is still the world's most popular multiplayer online game. 

    A new in-game store has been introduced which would allow players to buy extra items could help increase the number of subscribers.

    A number of such games have struggled over the past few years and have ended up dropping their subscription fees. This encourages doubt regarding the future of this business model.
