Water on Earth did not come from comets?

  • The theory that most of the water on our planet came from comets is now doubtful.

Results from the Rosetta mission, which landed on Comet 67P last month, indicate that the water there is not like the water on Earth.

The results have been published in the Science journal.

While some researchers say that asteroids were more likely to have brought water to the Earth, others believe that the comet theory cannot be discarded without additional data.
