Walking stick with sat-nav unveiled by Fujitsu
March 4 , 2013
Japanese firm Fujitsu has unveiled a 'smart' walking stick with built in GPS to help guide old people home.
Fujitsu showcased a working version of the stick at this week's Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona.
The stick features an easy-to-read LED screen indicating the direction in which the user needs to walk.
The stick also has a heart rate monitor that can transmit data as well as the location of its owner to health workers and relatives remotely.
No price has been confirmed but the device could prove to be a hit in Japan, which has a large population of older people.
