US: Uber to Pay $20m to Drivers in order to Settle Claims

  • As per reports, ride sharing service Uber has agreed to pay $20m to all the drivers who they attracted by offering lucrative picture of hourly rates of pay in the US. Reports say, Uber came up with ads in the Craiglist so that new drivers can be recruited.

    According to the offer, the drivers would earn $25 per hour. However, in reality only 10% of the drivers could actually earn the amount.

    The US Federal Trade Commission ordered Uber to work with it to find a way.

    A spokesperson from the company said that improvements in the driver experience has been made by them over the last year. However, the drivers says the improvement do not cover the costs of running a car and even its maintenance.
